Purchase Terms

1. Seller and product

The Guest Before The Rest is written by Valerie Balderson and Greg Hoover and is sold by Life Travelled Well Incorporated ("we," "us," or "the Seller"). These terms apply to your purchase of the e-book of The Guest Before The Rest and the included working appendices. Delivery includes a download link that may be used up to three times.

2. Acceptance

By purchasing or continuing to use the e-book, you agree to these Purchase Terms. If you do not agree, do not purchase or use the product. You must provide accurate purchase information and be legally able to enter into this agreement.

3. Your licence

After a successful purchase, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the e-book and its appendices for your own personal use and within the short and mid term rental business you own or manage. This licence does not transfer ownership of the book or its intellectual property.

4. Prohibited use

You must not:

• use the product unlawfully or to commit fraud, spam, or other abuse;
• copy, publish, resell, redistribute, sublicense, or commercially share it;
• remove copyright, attribution, or other proprietary notices; or
• interfere with the security, delivery, or operation of the service.

5. Intellectual property

We retain all rights, title, and interest in The Guest Before The Rest, including its text, structure, appendices, documentation, branding, and other intellectual property. You may use the included working documents as permitted by the licence above, but you may not reproduce or distribute the book as a substitute for a purchase.

6. Text and data mining, and AI training

Life Travelled Well Incorporated expressly reserves all rights in this work and on this website against text and data mining under Article 4(3) of EU Directive 2019/790 and any equivalent provision in other jurisdictions. No part of the book, its appendices, working documents, or the content of this website may be reproduced, extracted, scraped, or used to develop, train, fine-tune, evaluate, or ground any machine learning, large language model, or other generative artificial intelligence system, in whole or in part, without our prior written permission. This reservation applies to automated agents and crawlers as well as to people.

Copies of the book are individually identified. Each delivered file carries a copy reference and licence record tied to the order it was issued to, which allows us to trace a redistributed or republished copy back to its source. Circumventing, altering, or removing that identification is a breach of these Terms.

7. Payment and refunds

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation, and refund mechanics are also subject to Paddle’s Buyer Terms at paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms. We offer refunds requested within 14 days of purchase as described in our Refund Policy.

8. Availability and disclaimers

We aim to keep the product and delivery service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free performance. The book provides general educational information and practical examples; it is not legal, tax, financial, insurance, or other professional advice. You are responsible for evaluating the information and obtaining advice appropriate to your circumstances.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access where there is a material breach of these terms, non-payment, a security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious misuse of the product. On termination, your licence ends and you must stop sharing or using copies that you are not entitled to retain under these terms. Statutory rights are not affected.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms when the product or applicable requirements change. The version in effect at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase, except where a change is required by law. These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the Seller resides, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
